With the Chanel Resort 2009 collection, Karl Lagerfeld takes things at Chanel's one step further. |

Chanel Resort 2009 collection is retro, chic and mysterious, a little bit masculine (actually, an androgyne attitude), as menswear has heavily inspired many collections throughout time. When the masculine meets the feminine, strange and beautiful things happen - beaded dresses with clear or smoky plastic insets, sleek tuxedoes, jeans inspired from the 70s style, haute hippie headbands, silver sequined blazers and black jeans. |

Lagerfeld transgressed history and translated it into his own style, in an extremely elegant vision. |

The Chanel Resort 2009 collection was inspired - as Karl Lagerfeld said - by Rolling Stones Brian Jones, found dead at the bottom of his pool in 1969. In a commemorative way, the show ended with synchronized swimmers from the U.S. Olympic team jumping into the water, culminating in the lineup forming the Chanel logo. |
