Designers with a career in music industry just can't leave their roots behind. Gwen Stefani as one of the hot talents of the past decades in pop, rock and Punk music just couldn't deny her fondness for glammed up and statement looks. In spite of the use of neon yellow and other bright hues, the L.A.M.B Fall 2012 RTW collection radiates ultrafemme sophistication and a youthful vibe. Mod fashion played a crucial role in the creative process which resulted in this versatile and retro chic ensemble parade.
The iconic trendsetter status of Twiggy and the music of Nancy Sinatra set the perfect atmosphere for the dazzling fashion show. Gwen Stefani revealed to 'Rolling Stone' that, “I came across an editorial of a modern day Sixties sweater girl,[...] This took me back to the early days of rock music and rebellious teenagers of the Sixties, who have influenced almost every era since then, including punk and ska.”
Eye-popping graphical prints along with the oh-so-popular houndstooth patterns guaranteed the old time glam effect of these outfits. Gwen used numerous of the cult design trends of the 60s in her latest collection in order to provide the style pack with a repertoire of wearable and at the same time punked-up looks. Pop culture always served as a rich source of inspiration for designers like Gwen Stefani, Vivienne Westwood and Marc Jacobs.
